One can never go wrong with a maxi skirt and a wide-brimmed hat while at the beach. They give you the needed coverage when you have had enough of excessive sun exposure during play, bask and swim. Wide-brimmed hats, or floppy hats as I fondly call them, are staples in my wardrobe and I cannot be without one whenever I'm at the beach. I breakout a lot if I get too much salt and sun on my skin and even if I wear sunscreen, i still get those annoying little zits so I turn to these for double protection. Maxi skirts does not only provide protection, it also gives my sunburnt skin a cooling effect especially the soft jersey ones. This is so because I usually wrap them in a water-tight bag, let them sit in the fridge or cooler while I swim, and take them out only when I'm ready to lounge the afternoon away (right after I shower, of course!) That's instant comfort to my red, hot, burning skin. A little life hack that I discovered just recently. Besides, jersey maxi skirts are more comfortable post-swimming as they don't rub against the skin compared to denim shorts; my fail-safe beach outfit for years, but not anymore, I guess.
