With Mother's Day lurking around the corner, I can't help but feel nostalgic about the whole journey from being single and carefree (more like, careless) to being married and nurturing my very own home. Nostalgic because I just discovered another album on my external HD that contained a lot of unpublished twinning outfit shots of me and Vania. How in the world did it ever end up in the NCLEX reviewers folder? How?
I've been meaning to update my Mommy Diaries series here on the blog but I have so much degustation and event backlog posts that most of my outfit folders have been taking a backseat lately. Nonetheless, I am slowly clearing my backlogs folder starting with two sets of old twinning outfits from
Mommy-daughter duo or Twinning with mom is one of the trending topics this year next to Jelena's old and grainy kissing photo that has amassed over 3 million likes making it the most liked photo on Instagram of all time. Totally unrelated but yeah, now you know. Twitter keeps me updated, okay?
Twinning doesn't necessarily mean that you have to wear the exact same outfit. You two could wear dresses in different cut or style but in the same color palette or similar print, and vice versa. Don't burn yourself out looking for matching mom-daughter sets just to pull this off if it's not readily available. One thing that you can do while shopping is to keep a mental picture of the items you have in your closet or in your little girl's and take it from there. You can buy a piece that is similar to what your daughter already have or you can buy something for you that is similar to what she already owns. It's just a matter of keeping tabs of your purchases, really.
But if you're one of the lucky few who knows a really good seamstress, then I don't see why you won't be able to wear matching sets! If you happen to chance upon a really good matching set, then by all means, make a beeline to the nearest counter! haha!
This trench dress I've said since forever but never really got the chance to wear until an aunt gave Vania this Zara Kids trench dress. It was a match made in heaven!
Additional cuteness factor too if you have matching footwear to boot!
On me: H&M dress | Forever21 block heels | Michael Kors watch
On Vania: Baby Gap dress | Mini Melissa sandals
This post is quite lengthy but I hope you guys enjoyed reading this come-back mommy blog post!
