Finding your Summer style is key in nailing the perfect capsule wardrobe to get you through weeks of summer sun and endless fun. Whether you're going on road trips during weekends, or hitting the beach on days off or jetting off to some island paradise for a whole week of excursion, knowing what style works for you cuts your preparation time in half and having a capsule wardrobe means taking up less space in your luggage, making more room for all your shopping finds!
Building a capsule wardrobe may seem too much of a task to follow through but with SM Woman, finding your own personal style is just as easy as browsing through their racks of both on-trend and timeless summer pieces that can take you from day to night, dry to wet season because there is fashion for everyone woman.
Last April 1, The SM Store at the SM Seaside City Cebu ushered Summer in with an informative and engaging styling session hosted by TV personality and host Blinky De Leon.
Highlighting five summer trends that dominate SM Woman's current collection, Blinky took us around the store and shared style tips that proved useful during the styling session that ensued.
STRIPES
Nautical is everyone's favorite during summer and I don't see why not. Aside from being a timeless and well-loved trend, nothing says "ahoy there!" better than a navy, white and stripe combo!
BOTANICALS
These leafy wonders are all the rage right now-- from Monsteras, to tropical Palms to Martinique banana leaf prints, balmy resort wear are anything but boring.
ROMANTIC
Dainty florals and Intricate embroidery on organza fabric brings the tea party to the beach and this Coco Cabaña coverup gives me the best of both worlds. Swimwear coverup, resort/lounge wear or afternoon tea OOTD accent, this sweet little number is versatile as it is chic! I knew I had to get it the moment I laid my eyes on it!
BLUES
...and other bold hues in solid or geometric prints are timeless summer necessities. Nothing spells fun like a bright colored bikini, shorts or top while basking in the summer sun!
WHITES
Last, but definitely not the least. Light, airy and easy on the eyes, anything White for summer adds instant pizzazz to all your summer OOTDS. For the third and last batch of Style Edit participants, majority went for this perennial summer favorite color, walked and owned the runway like real style stars that they already are.
Cebu Fashion Bloggers' very own Ronah, Katrina and yours truly, wasted no time in grabbing a white piece to style ourselves with for the mini fashion show.
Ronah went for an off-the-shoulder flounce dress and added a cute scarf to accessorize this eyelet number. Completing the whole look was a chic woven bag (that I am eyeing!!) and colored specs for a more summery feel.
Kat reworked an off-the-shoulder romper and wore it as a top-- something that one can do when traveling to give you more outfit options without worrying about excess baggage for additional clothes ;) Given that you wash it of course!
For my part, I went for my signature look-- wide-legged pants with a breezy white top and completed the ensemble with this oh-so-pretty-i-cant-breathe embroidered cardigan. Okay, that was an exaggeration but y'all get the drift, right? It's too pretty that I want to wear to almost all my event invitations! Hey, nothing wrong with repeating outfits so don't judge. HAHA!

It was truly an engaging and fun afternoon for all of us present at the SM Woman Summer 2017 Style Edit styling session! Quite a unique experience too for the shoppers/participants who were treated to a free styling workshop, were given a bagful of freebies and shopping money for the winners of the styling challenge!
