Playing dress-up with Vania has become more interesting and is all sorts of fun now now that she's gotten a little older.
I am saying this because let's face it, there just weren't enough options for twinning outfits for us and our little misses when they were around one or two years old. I remember having to always make a mental picture (I still do!) of our closets whenever I go shopping just so we can go twinning even if it means twinning in color palette or slightly similar prints. This was in 2013-- when there weren't enough online and physical shops to cater to all our sartorial cravings.
Fast forward to today when Instagram is teeming with mother-daughter specialty shops that my heart (and pockets!) could barely handle! A particular style that we've been loving lately is the ruffle skirt.
OMG. YES. THE RUFFLE SKIRT!
Flamboyant, girly and extremely maximalist, this trend had me going loco when it made waves this year so naturally, this momma right here had to get one (or two, or four!) for Vania and I. How can one not love all the extras, the details, and the flounce of this trend? I mean, I seriously just want to twirl all day when I'm wearing one of these. To me, it feels like a tutu skirt reimagined and interpreted into something more relatable and wearable. And because I prefer that Vania and I interpret a trend differently instead of going all-out twinning with our outfits, here's us wearing ruffle skirts in the same color tones.
This was an afternoon full of errands (and surprises as well!) so we opted to wear something light and comfortable-- something that's chic enough to be photo-ready yet comfortable enough to move around in. And move around we did (A LOT!) when we chanced upon this field on our way to our 3rd stop.
This was a lovely surprise that we didn't realize we spent 45 minutes here running after grasshoppers, looking for water bombs and trying make a secret trail to the beach down below. Ha! Talk about wanting to be instant adventure seekers, yes? It was a good 45 minutes under overcast skies and my foundation started to melt (yikes!) and Vania started to complain about itchy legs but surprisingly, we stayed fresh and still smelled good even after all the cardio (haha!) and wandering and hiding.
No, we didn't stay fresh because of my perfume nor was it because of Vania's cologne, it was because of my fabric conditioner's newest variant, the Downy Sweetheart which comes in a really eye-catching hot pink bottle! HOTTT PIIINK! Wait.. or am I the only one who thinks that anything hot pink is attention-grabbing? :D

Second surprise of the day is the fact that Downy Sweetheart lasts longer than expensive perfumes on fabric! We did not have to spritz on our perfumes for another round of touch-ups nor did I feel self-conscious about that distinct dried-up sweat smell when we went to a nearby coffee for some refreshments because we were still that fresh! Yes, my fabcon is that good!
Speaking of Downy, here's Vania teaching me a few dance moves she saw on YouTube a few days ago ahaha! When I saw her acting all giddy, holding her new discovery and dancing while humming, I asked her where she learned those moves and she said "That Downy sa Youtube ba! That girl wearing pink princess dress!" She was referring to no less than the queen herself, Pia Wurtzbach singing and dancing for the Downy Sweetheart commercial!
If we're friends on Facebook, you will know that Vania is very familiar with #DownyPH because she's been helping me do our laundry since she was two! Don't believe? Watch the video below! ;)
Isn't my little assistant the cutest?!
