If you're like me who prefers to host intimate dinner parties instead of going out, you are going to need party essentials to make things easier for you, keep everything organized, and prettify your tabletop at the same time. I started building our dinnerware collection for guests when we moved into our own house a few years ago-- after we threw a small party and had to borrow extra utensils and dinnerware from my parents because we only had a 12pc dinner set then.

One way to showcase your personal style is through your home decor and that includes your dinnerware-- from the elaborateness of how you set them up, to the finer details like the design, color, and overall theme. And contrary to popular belief, starting any collection is actually very easy and it doesn't necessarily have to be very expensive. In our case, I bought our party essentials one piece at a time. If one has a big budget to spend on an entire collection, then collecting would be very easy. But if you're like me who likes to take things slow depending on budget, I only buy a piece or two, making sure it (mix-and) matches with our overall theme perfectly. If there is one thing though that I learned from hoarding Real Living magazines, it is that, to always buy that decor which you think would fit perfectly in your home, literally and figuratively. Haha!

TOP 10 Holiday Entertaining Essentials: A PARTY AND GIFT GUIDE FOR EVERY MOMMY
1. APOTHECARY JARS. I love them! I love them because they're so versatile! For the holidays, fill them up with acorns, or Christmas balls and battery-operated string lights, and use them as center pieces. Fill them up with sweet treats like mallows, cookies, or chocolates and use them to make a candy bar. Use them to make terrariums, use them as fruit stands (because why not!), or even as a candle holder! The possibilities are endless!
2. CAKE STAND WITH GLASS COVER. I believe every home should have one. It makes everything look fancy-- even store-bought cakes!
3. CERAMIC DESSERT STAND. They're far more better than the cardboard ones because they're sure to last longer, making them better investments. And please don't get me started with the color!
4. GLASS SERVING TRAYS. I have them in all shapes and sizes because during parties, food presentation is everything! Well, next to delicious food, of course.
5. WATER HYACINTH CASSEROLES WITH & WITHOUT LIDS. Like I said, food presentation is everything-- as well as sanitation. Flies be gone, yes?
6. WATER CONTAINER SET WITH WOODEN TRAY. One of the many things you will find when you try to look for Home Entertaining Ideas on Pinterest. This makes your table picture and Pinterest perfect!
7. MASON JAR SET WITH LID, STRAW & WOODEN TRAY. For all your picnic style gatherings, one must have mason jars to complete the overall feel and look. When the mason jars trend came about, I ordered ours from a Manila supplier. Too happy that Metro has them already, that way, I no longer have to pay for shipping and I'm guaranteed that they're not chipped or broken.
8. WINE GLASS. What's a party without an Italian Red or a sparkling Rosé? Wine glasses are a must-have!
9. GLASS BEVERAGE DISPENSERS. I am all for country style picnic dining and glass beverage dispensers are without a doubt the best representation of it. My mom and I love using them for our Lemongrass Iced Tea with fresh lemon slices because it makes 'em look more delicious. Haha!
10. DINNERWARE. How can i forget?! The red details of this Corelle set make them perfect for the holidays. 'nuf said.
Bonus item..
CUP AND SAUCER SETS. Coffee or tea for your guests' nightcap and what better way to serve 'em than in colorful sets? Perfect way to end a fun and colorful gathering, yes?
